CHRISTMAS LIZARD NOMINATED FOR GOLD MEDALLION AWARD
The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association announced the
finalists for the 2001 Gold Medallion Book awards, and the "Lizard"
was one of them! While Oscar did not take home the Gold, it is
still a rare and wonderful thing to even be recognized in this
category.
According to the publisher, this is one of only a handful of
their titles that have ever been considered for this award in
the company's 25 year existence. Only 5000 books have been awarded
in the Gold Medallion's
history. For the Christian publishing industry, it is a big honor.
While the book appeals to all ages, The Christmas Lizard
was nominated as one of five finalists in the Preschool Children's
category.
The winner was Mad Maddie Maxwell, by Stacie Maslyn, from
Zondervan Publishing House.
Other nominees were:
Little Girls Bible Storybook for Fathers and Daughters,
by Carolyn Larsen, from Baker Books (A division of Baker Book
House Co.)
Adventures in Odyssey Devotions, from Focus on the Family
and Tommy Nelson, a division of Thomas Nelson, Inc.
The NIV Little Kid's Adventure Bible, from Zondervan Publishing
House
